discovery diving.. thank you carter for your looooong comment!

Phantom Divers is a very good company that stands behind its promises and prices and keep the well being of the dive group at the top of the priority list. These are some important insight for first time new-bi divers deciding to dive with Phantom Divers.
In general the reputations of dive operators are all over the board. What really sets one dive shop apart from another is the integrity and professionalism of the dive masters. They are the people behind the scenes that keep you safe and show you a good time. In some instances it is hard to meet the dive masters before your dive and on the Internet it is impossible. Forget the fancy website or shinny equipment or big, comfortable party boat pitches. Once you jump in the water we are all in the same ocean. It doesn't matter how you get there. It's the skill and training of the dive master who will keep you safe and show you the fun and exciting dive sights and manage the dive experience so everyone in the group has a safe and fun time.
Phantom Divers is a small group operator that specializes in working with local guides, seasoned captains and experienced local dive masters. From my limited experience small group dives are the way to go because the experience of the whole group is basically dictated by the least experienced diver in the group. Some of the rental equipment can be hit and miss because not all of their locations stock the same equipment. If you can it is a good idea to arrive early and have a good look at all of your equipment and ask to swap out anything that you are not comfortable with. I'm certain they will be more than happy to accommodate you.
The bottom line and most important aspect is that the staff, safety procedures and dive master supervision is very well established. On my dive, we found out through a pre-equipment check that my pressure gage was busted. Sort of an important piece of equipment. The dive master swapped it out with something that looked like it was handed down 30 years ago from Jacques Cousteau but it worked perfectly. The important thing is that the problem was caught by the dive master and fixed before I hit the water. The bottom line was I got to dive, had fun and was safe.Phantom Divers has a world wide reputation and lives or dies by keeping its customers safe and happy. They want you to have a good time and tell your friends about your experience.
I would use them again but next time I will bring my own regulator/dive computer.
