What is Right and What is Wrong? Concerning the Lion Fish in PDC's Reefs......

Phantom Diver’s point of view concerning the Lion Fish is really different from what people might think. We do not want to kill him, but we want to show to the other fish species that they can eat it, because right now, they don’t know this new organism in that arrive in their natural environment.
We do perfectly know that the Man is never going to be able to eradicate this fish from the Caribbean Ocean it invaded, but we can help to its integration in this and make him part of the food chain in order to lessen the problem we have here with him killing other fish species. We believe that the possible way to control this plague.
This is why we need to act now before it’s too late. During the last weeks we have been trying out a few experiments with different techniques in order to eradicate this specie.
Our instructors are still working on the Lion Fish Capture Project, but now, instead of taking them out of the water we do 2 things; first one, we leave the dead body of the Lion Fish at the bottom of the Ocean, so that when other Lion Fishes see the dead body they get scared and feel the need to migrate to another place.
Second one, which has shown very positive results, is “alimentation”, we kill the Lion Fish and give it as food to moray eels.
Of course, we are aware that this might not be the best thing to do but we are showing than it can also have natural predators in this area.
So probably, and we hope in a near future, the same moray eels are going to hunt the Lion Fishes and help us to control the invasion of this specie in our beloved Caribbean Ocean.

Experience: Snorkel with Whale Sharks!
The arrival of the Whale Sharks, each year, is bringing us a lot of joy and excitement. These long and gorgeous looking species measure up to 16m and can weight 12 tons. The whale shark is the biggest fish that lives in our Ocean; we can find it in quality tropical-waters.
The first sighting is approximately in May when we see a whale shark swimming on its own, and from this moment on other animals arrive and form into a large group. This frenetic and thrilling event lasts until September.
During this special day, you’ll have the opportunity to swim in the Caribbean Ocean water, approximately 27 degrees Celsius warm and snorkel with whale sharks. This is going to result as long lasting memories! The tour takes place on a comfortable boat that can transport up to 10 clients. Throughout your trip, we offer water, refreshments, fruits and granola bars; at the end of the snorkeling tour you can enjoy a nice typical Mexican meal (we have also offer options for vegetarians!).
In order to make the most out to this trip we meet at 6.45 am in Cancun, for a small welcoming breakfast with the staff, where we get to know each other. Then, we leave at 7a.m and head to the Island of Contoy, located in the North of Cancun.
The journey is approximately 1h30min. During this time, the instructors explain to us what we are about to see, the precautions we need to take when entering the water and the whole history concerning the migration of whale sharks to Mexico.
Not only will you see whale sharks, but also dolphins, turtles or manta rays. This journey really is an incredible moment to connect with marine life and see how these aquatic species behave in their natural habitat.
Once we arrive on the spot where the whale sharks are, we start to get ready to snorkel with them! The guide then enters the water with 2 people at a time and the rest of the clients wait their turn on the boat.
To ensure the safety of the animal’s Mexican law prohibits more than 5 boats on any animal at any time. As well to protect the environment in this marine park all sunscreen must be biodegradable.
We come back in Cancun at around 2.30pm after a unique and amazing adventure. We are sure that you will be inspired by this truly unique experience swimming with one of the least understood and beautiful creatures in the Ocean. In no other place do Whale Sharks congregate in large groups and in no other place can you snorkel with them. Rest assured, our guides are extremely well prepared and you can be ensured that this journey is going to be very safe and filled up with tons of memories.

Visit "La Casa de las Mariposas"!
You wish for the whole family or friends you’re on holidays with to have a good time, even though you won’t spend your day all together because you’re going scuba diving and you don’t want to leave your beloved with nothing to do…

This is a gorgeous place to enjoy nature with two different areas.
The first one being an open garden where butterflies have been attracted in a totally natural way and where you can find more than 500 species living in this zone such as the Blue Morpho, depending on the season when you are going.
The second one being a more controlled area, a greenhouse where more than 10 different native species live.
During the tour, you get to enjoy a lot of exotic plants and orchids and also learn to identify medicinal Mayan plants.
The aim of this site is to protect the natural environment of Yucatan, and of course, of the whole planet, while spending a great time with friends or family in a natural environmentally friendly place surrounded by tons of exotic and gorgeous animals species and plants.

Discover Scuba Diving!
If you have always wondered how it felt like to breathe underwater and how everything looks like in the ocean world... but you are not sure if you are willing to get certified straight away... you have the amazing chance to take the Discover Scuba Diving Program!
An instructor will begin with a small theoretical class on the beach, teaching you the basic skills you need to know, such as the names of the different parts of you equipment, the most important signs you would have to use underwater to communicate with your buddies, the way to jump into the water or how to react if you have water in your mask!
Afterwards, you will take the boat and make the exercises in the ocean while being helped by your instructor.
Once you are able to do them on your own and you feel comfortable breathing underwater, you will take the boat and go for 2 different shallow dives where you will have the chance to have a look at the gorgeous Caribbean reefs while being surrounded by tons of extremely colorful fishes...maybe turtles or starfishes!
Of course, if you enjoyed this unique feeling you have when you dive, you can take some classes and get certified!
